Carlos Cruz-Diez inaugurates “Meridianos”, a series of public forums envisioned by Casa
Daros, the new premise of the Swiss organization Daros Latinamerica. This program aims
to create a meeting platform for important Latin American artists to talk about their artistic
journeys, choices and influences.

To celebrate the beginning of this public forum, Cruz-Diez created an ephemeral artwork
entitled “Induction Chromatique à double fréquence” (2011), which has been structured on
the walls surrounding Casa Daros, and measures 87m long by 2.5m high.
He also initiated a pedagogical activity called “Color in Space” organized by the MAM Rio.
Based on his work, this activity includes a visit of the museum, a presentation of “Didáctica y
dialéctica del color” (Cruz-Diez, 1984) and a kite workshop with original designs by the artist.
This event is open to the public and takes place on 7 May – 2:30.
