Cold America. Geometric Abstraction in Latin America (1934 – 1973)

Devoted to the geometric abstraction in Latin America, the exhibition organized by the Fundación
Juan March gathers 300 artworks by 64 artists, and documental material on 40 years of artistic
research.

Carlos Cruz-Diez participates to this exhibition as a major figure of the development of Kinetic art,
among other Venezuelan artists such as Alejandro Otero y Jesús Rafael Soto. His fundamental
contribution as an expert of chromatic dynamism puts into perspective the perception of traditional
plane surfaces.
