In 1954, Carlos Cruz-Diez created a series of mural projects in an effort to share his researches with people who had no access to art.
Towards the end of 1956, Cruz-Diez focused his research on the instability of a flat surface and the spatial instability that occurs inside the eye when faced with situations of vision at its limit.
From his early experiments onwards, he focused on the dissociation of the color-form binomial, approaching it from a different angle to the traditional one that saw only the colored form. His goal was to set color free from form.
